William E Little Jr

I am a Full Stack Software & DevOps Engineer who loves building and experimenting with Software, Linux, & electronics. I am experienced in Bash, Go, Perl, PHP, Python, and Typescript; whatever gets the job done. Outside of software and electronics, I enjoy coffee, BBQ, and running.

Professional Journey: Software

I started my journey in Linux and Software working Tech Support for a web hosting provider offering the 3 major control panels; cPanel, DirectAdmin, & Plesk. Later, I moved into an Abuse Specialist role, where I helped ensure the quality & reputation of our hosting service by investigating compromised accounts and resource bottlenecks.

After a few years of supporting cPanel as a partner, I accepted a Technical Analyst role at cPanel. Eventually, I moved into a role to develop & maintain applications for the Support Department, and later cPanel’s e-commerce and billing applications.

Through my experience in the web hosting industry, I’ve built a strong understanding of Linux, System Administration, Software Development, & Platform Engineering.

Professional Journey: Electronics

Prior to my journey into Software, I managed an electronics repair shop for devices like the iPhone, iPad, PlayStation, Xbox, etc; honestly, any device we could get the parts for. I was handling ordering, inventory, hiring, & training; and of course, fixing the occasional whoops from one of our techs.

The emotional attachments that people tend to develop with their devices lead to some serious public breakdowns; however, bringing a device back to life was extremely rewarding and thankfully, the typical outcome.

While it was a very stressful job, I was constantly challenged. Now I enjoy building small projects with microcontroller’s, like my custom keyboard.

Why BMO?

I built BMO to understand fun, and how to play. I made BMO to “Be More”.

BMO is a robot companion from Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time; a show I used to watch with my Dad. BMO is my reminder to be curious and never stop exploring; to view each experience as an opportunity to grow, to become more.
